Our environmental commitment
AI-powered products use real resources — electricity and water — and we think transparency about that matters.
Each practice session involves several AI calls: generating your questions, transcribing your answers, and producing feedback. Based on current industry benchmarks, the energy used for a single session is roughly comparable to charging your phone — small on its own, but not zero.
Water is used indirectly to cool the data centers where these models run. The per-session amount is modest, but we're conscious that across the AI industry these numbers add up.
Here's what we do to keep our footprint as low as we can:
- We cache audio.Your AI interviewer's voice is generated once and stored — not regenerated on every request.
- We host on Vercel, which runs on renewable energy-backed infrastructure.
- We work with providers that have public climate commitments. Anthropic and OpenAI both publish sustainability goals and run on modern, energy-efficient infrastructure.
We're in the process of formalizing a broader commitment to reducing our footprint. We'll update this page when that's in place.
