Prep For Interview ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your information when you use our AI-powered mock interview platform at prepforinterview.com (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in via Google, we receive the name and email associated with your Google account.
Resumé Content
You may upload a resumé or paste your work history. This text is stored in your account and used to personalize interview questions. We do not use your resumé content for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
Audio Recordings
During a mock interview session, your microphone audio is recorded and temporarily processed for transcription. Recording files are stored securely and automatically deleted after 90 days.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, session timestamps, IP address, browser type, and device identifiers. This data is used to improve the product and ensure reliability.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Generate personalized interview questions and AI feedback
- Transcribe your spoken responses using AI services
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
- Respond to support requests
- Detect fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party providers to deliver the Service. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreement.

When audio or text is sent to Anthropic, OpenAI, or ElevenLabs for processing, it is transmitted over encrypted connections. These providers process your data on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own model training without your consent.
5. Data Retention
- Audio recordings: Deleted automatically 90 days after the session date.
- AI prompt and response logs: Internal logs of prompts sent to AI providers — used to monitor quality and cost. Deleted automatically 90 days after the date of the call.
- Session transcripts and feedback: Retained for as long as your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Account data (name, email, resumé): Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
- Billing records: Retained for up to 7 years as required by US tax and accounting regulations.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information via your account settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data at any time from the Account settings page. We will process the deletion within 30 days.
- Portability: Request an export of your session history and feedback data.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for purposes other than providing the Service.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. You do not need to opt out.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA rights.
To submit a verifiable CCPA request, email privacy@prepforinterview.com from the address associated with your account.
8. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Session cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
- Analytics cookies (optional): We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. These are only set with your consent via the cookie banner.
You can withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time by clearing your browser storage and declining via the cookie banner on your next visit.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest (provided by Supabase/AWS), strict access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
